Before the first class

This piece of work was my Design and Technology HSC Major Design Project that I created to satisfy a 'need' that I had researched - the increased high rise living and the demand for space saving or multi-purpose furniture. The design I developed was aimed at maximising the size potential of an apartment while freeing up valuable floor space, helping to create a more efficient home with its multi-purpose features.

The Sydney Opera House has always been an Australian icon and beautiful piece of architecture. A crew of approximately 10,000 workers started construction of the building in 1959 which later opened in 1973. The architect John Utzon won 5000 euros for his design. The architectural style is Expressionist Modernism.

The intense sunset over the ocean and waves gives a vivid illustration of what makes beauty. The highlights of the sunset on the surf makes it seem as if we are looking through the barrel into heaven. It's interesting how the vibrant colours provide existence to the ocean and how both are necessities to life.
